G7 leaders commit to pass the buck to future generations

Why is it not a surprise that Canada, under the leadership of a government fully in thrall to the fossil fuel industry, worked to block a more substantive declaration from the G7 here? A pledge to decarbonize by 2100 is an absolute farce, when this work needs to start now. The leaders seem to be ‘talking’ in a good direction, but action is sorely lacking. This certainly doesn’t bode well for Paris in December. All the more reason to take the struggle to the companies themselves through divestment..
